Campidoglio Wedding Hall, also known as the "Red Hall" (Sala Rossa) in Rome, is located on the top of the Capitoline hill in the heart o the Eternal City next to piazza Venezia. It is named as the "Red Hall2 for the predominant colour of upholstery, curtains and carpets.
The Capitoline Hall is where the Mayor of Rome has his headquarters and was also once the site of a temple for the Capitoline Triad, started by Rome's fifth king, Tarquinius Priscus. Michelangelo designed the marvelous piazza and restyled the surrounding palazzos dated 1536. He reversed the classical orientation of the Capitoline, in a symbolic gesture turning Rome's civic center to face away from the Roman Forum and instead in the direction of St. Peter's Basilica. Michelangelo designed a beautiful monumental wide ramped staircase (the Cordonata) ascending the hill to reach the high piazza.
The view is beautiful from the Capitoline hill over the domes of Rome and panoramic vies over the Roman Forum, which would be a wonderful backdrop for your wedding pictures after the civil wedding ceremonyiy.
